MAR becomes first accredited TPM Supplier
Machinery Automation and Robotics received its
accreditation as a TPM3 Accredited Supplier on
Thursday, 2 March from The Centre of TPM
(Australasia) at a gala presentation dinner.
The announcement was made at the 2006 New Zealand TPM3 Forum’s Dinner
where over 60 attendees from a range of leading New Zealand manufacturing
sites were present.
MAR has been working towards accreditation for over 12 months and as an
accredited supplier complies with TPM3 best practices across a range of areas
focused around new equipment design, build and integration. Key considerations
include Operability, Maintainability, Training and Documentation & Knowledge. To
supply TPM3 Friendly equipment TPM3 philosophies must be incorporated into all
stages starting with design & build through to installation, integration and
training.
During the announcement and presentation, Mr Ross Kennedy, President of The
Centre for TPM (Australasia) commended and congratulated MAR for its initiative
and foresight in becoming the first TPM3 Accredited Supplier of TPM3 Friendly
Equipment in Australasia and felt many companies purchasing equipment from
MAR would now be a bigger step ahead as they strive for world class
performance.
TPM had its genesis at the Toyota Car Company in Japan in the 1970s and has
been transformed by The Centre for TPM ( Australasia ) into an Australasian
company-wide improvement strategy aimed at unleashing the full potential of
people, equipment and processes as companies strive for World Class
Performance. A critical part of this journey is to ensure when new equipment is
required it comes to the site in a TPM3 Friendly state to ensure it is easy to
operate and be cared for by operators, easy to maintain by the maintainers and
complies to site standards to minimise overall life cycle cost of the equipment.
TPM3 Friendly equipment is about providing equipment that can reach and
sustain its full potential in the earliest possible time.
More than 35 sites from manufacturing, mining, process, utilities and service
industries across Australia and New Zealand have embraced TPM3 and through it
have become more efficient and competitive, enabling them to better compete on
the world market.
Machinery Automation and Robotics’ goal is to
deliver a competitive edge to Australasian
manufacturing-reliant companies by providing
fully integrated ‘world class’ manufacturing
systems across a wide range of industries
including food, beverage, paving and bricks,
metals and pharmaceuticals.
To ensure that the systems MAR build are of a
world class standard, MAR has adopted TPM3
principles into the organisation and
consequently to date is the only TPM3
Accredited Supplier of TPM3 Friendly Equipment
in Australasia, as certified by The Centre for TPM
( Australasia ).
