Machinery Automation and Robotics (MAR) has been announced as a finalist in the Telstra 2008 Business Awards.

Now in its 16th year, the Telstra Business Awards recognise and reward the ingenuity and innovation of Australia’s most outstanding businesses. In 2008, the Award categories were changed to better represent Australian Small and Medium Businesses with the awards open to all eligible businesses between one and 200 employees.

This year over 4,500 businesses across Australia were nominated for the Awards, with just a handful of finalists selected from each state. Machinery Automation & Robotics (MAR) is one of 6 finalists for both the Panasonic Australia Medium Business Award and the AMP Innovation Award.

Mr Clyde Campbell CEO said “For MAR to be nominated as a finalist in such a prestigious award is a great honour. It recognises the hard work that our dedicated team put in on a daily basis and benchmarks us against the top businesses in the State”.

Machinery Automation & Robotics designs, builds and integrates automated manufacturing solutions incorporating advanced robotics for production critical industries. Investing heavily in research and development, MAR has developed its own proprietary technologies which enable its manufacturing clients to compete in a global market. Established in 1987, the business has grown to employ a team of 47 staff servicing clients across Australia and internationally, from offices in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. MAR has recently entered the American market and is looking to expand further and supply European manufacturers.

Winners will be announced on Friday 5 September 2008 at Hilton Sydney, where one business will also be named the 2008 Telstra New South Wales Business of the Year.

 

PACE Zenith Awards 2007PACE Awards

Machinery Automation and Robotics (MAR)has just been announced as the winner of the PACE Zenith Awards for 2007 in the Automotive and manufacturing category.

MAR have designed and built the “DataDotDNA Automated Application Cell” (DAAC), an automated robotic solution for assembly line DataDotDNA application. DataDot Technology is an Australian innovation that enables items, products materials and assets of all kinds to be protected against theft and counterfeiting by indelibly marking assets with unique codes.

The awards, publicly recognise and reward industrial applications that most successfully demonstrate engineering excellence and innovation. The award was accepted by Clyde Campbell managing Director at a presentation breakfast on Wednesday 30th May 2007.

My Business Awards 2006 Winner

Machinery Automation and Robotics has just been announced as the overall winner of the Fuji Xerox My Business awards for Outstanding Excellence as well as the category winner of The Australian Business Limited State Chamber Award for Best Medium Business.

The Medium Business award was open to medium businesses with between 21 and 200 employees. The main criteria was based on how entrants had maintained strong market positions while continuing to grow, with particular emphasis on management and strategic planning. Measurement was based on demonstrable success through revenue growth and market share.

More than 500 businesses overall entered the awards and it was noted that the quality of the entries confirmed that the Australian private business sector is alive and well, and in many instances performing spectacularly well.

The award was accepted by Clyde Campbell managing Director at a Gala Dinner was held on Thursday 28 September at the historic Doltone House on Jones Bay Wharf at Pyrmont.

Machinery Automation & Robotics (MAR) received industry recognition this month as winner of the "Leader in Business Practice - Knowledge Management" award at the 2005 Western Sydney Industry Awards. This category recognises the winner's best practices in management, financial and IT systems, and corporate knowledge. Credit was also given in this category to MAR for demonstrating how continuous improvement, training and staff development, internal communications, and research and development are a fundamental part of its business strategy.

MAR was also highly commended in the Regional Excellence category for outstanding product. This award recognises the excellence of design, build and installation of both the organisation's automation and robotic solutions.

The Western Sydney Industry Awards, now in their 7th year, are acknowledged as the most strategic regional awards in Australia. The Awards recognise and reward excellence, innovation and leadership across Western Sydney's diverse range of industry sectors.

The award was presented at a gala dinner at the Westin Hotel by the Minister for Regional Development and Small Business David Campbell, and Telstra Business and Government Managing Director Christine Holgate.

Winning this prestigious award recognises the commitment and dedication of the team at MAR who have made this award achievable.

2004 NECA Awards of Excellence

Machinery Automation and Robotics surpassed a field of the state's top Industrial Businesses to win the 2004 NECA NSW Awards of Excellence -Industrial Category.

MAR won the award based on its upgrade of Tomago's smelter plant technology which saw an production increase of 72% in it's melting capacity, increasing output to 530,000 tonnes per annum.

The Awards of Excellence 2004 were presented at an industry luncheon held on Friday, 17th September, 2004 at Star City , and is the 11th year that the National program of awards have been presented. The presentation events are held in each State and are the premier events in the industry calendar where all those involved can see their skills acknowledged and are proud of the industry's achievements.

NECA, the National Electrical and Communications Association, is the national voice of the electro technical contracting industry. NECA is the only association that represents the interests of electrical and communications contractors, from employers and business people to technicians. More than 6000 businesses enjoy the benefits of NECA membership.

2003 Australia Post NSW/ACT Small Business Awards

Leading the way in automation evolution MAR and its dedicated team of individuals receive recognition for outstanding results achieved through the use of technology in the technology category of the 2003 Australia Post Small Business Awards. The awards, launched in 1997 and supported by the Department of State and Regional Development and the State Chamber of Commerce, recognise and reward the professional excellence of small businesses and the vital role they play in the community.

At the helm is MAR's Managing Director Clyde Campbell who identified a need in the marketplace for a business that could effectively service world-class machinery locally: "We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved a place as finalist in these prestigious awards. It is wonderful to achieve this level of recognition from a source other than our loyal customers".

2002 NECA/MMEM Awards

Comprehensive overhaul of Tooheys can line earns MAR a place in the annual NECA/MMEM Awards of Excellence. The highest accolade conferred by the electrical and communications industry and presented to electrical contracting companies throughout the industry, the NECA/MMEM awards recognise excellence and outstanding achievement within individual companies' fields of expertise.

MAR, who completed on-site installation and commissioning in exactly one week, provided NSW's largest can line operation with a 20-year advance over its existing technology and an increased production output to 2000 cans per minute.
